In the city or beyond, Nature is my starting place.

My mixed media collages reflect my contemplative deep-looking at the natural world. My current work explores the unexpected beauty of “urban nature” in the public parks, urban woodlands, and community gardens of upper Manhattan and the Bronx.

A makeshift garden tucked away on a traffic island. Schools of fish darting upriver from the George Washington Bridge. Shadows of turtles and frogs moving through hidden ponds in a Bronx park. My work surprises by highlighting instances of natural beauty amid urban life that run counter to preconceptions that limit our sense of place, possibility, and responsibility — to the earth, to our cities, and to one another,
